Ceri & Jamie’s Manorbier Castle Wedding

There are some wedding days that feel as though everything has fallen perfectly into place, and Ceri and Jamie’s was one of them. A beautiful September day, glorious sunshine, a castle by the sea and the Pembrokeshire coast as their backdrop — it was difficult to imagine a lovelier setting.

Ceri and Jamie chose the incredible Manorbier Castle for their ceremony. With its ancient stone walls, little hidden corners and views towards the coast, it has so much character. The castle looked particularly beautiful in the September sunshine, with simple white flowers, greenery and candles complementing the historic surroundings perfectly.

Ceri looked absolutely beautiful in an elegant fitted gown with the prettiest lace detailing, while Jamie’s neutral-toned suit worked so well with the soft, natural colours of the day. One of the things I loved most was how relaxed everything felt. There was no need for anything overly staged — just lots of genuine moments, smiles and time spent with the people they love.

After the ceremony and photographs around the castle, we made the most of the gorgeous weather and headed to Freshwater East for Ceri and Jamie’s couple photographs. Pembrokeshire really did show off for us! Blue skies, calm sea and that beautiful late-summer light made the beach the perfect contrast to the old stone of Manorbier.

We wandered down towards the water, giving Ceri and Jamie a little time away together while I photographed them naturally. Some of my favourite images from the day are the really simple ones — the two of them walking hand in hand towards the sea, reflected in the water, and those quieter moments tucked amongst the grasses with the coastline stretching away behind them.

From Freshwater East, it was on to Jacks for their reception. I love the change of atmosphere between each part of this wedding: the history and romance of the castle, the wild Pembrokeshire coastline and then the wonderfully relaxed feel of the reception. It made the whole day feel very them rather than following a traditional wedding-day formula.

And that September sunshine stayed with us, giving us those gorgeous long shadows as Ceri and Jamie walked into their reception together to continue the celebrations.

It was such a pleasure to photograph their day and to capture a wedding that made such beautiful use of some of the very best places we have here in Pembrokeshire.

Congratulations Ceri & Jamie 🤍
